How a Typical MWAF Visit Works

1. WARM WELCOME & CHECK-IN: Friendly conversation and an emotional check-in.

2. SHARED MEAL OR ACTIVITY: Connection through meals, conversation, or light activities.

3. GUIDED CONVERSATION: Meaningful discussions to reduce isolation.

4. REFLECTION & ENCOURAGEMENT: End visits with support, positivity, and future goals.



Measuring Social Connection & Well-Being

Meals With A Friend uses the UCLA Loneliness Scale before and after participation to better understand changes in social connection, emotional wellness, and feelings of isolation throughout the program.
